"Over the past few Open Studios, I have been able

"Over the past few Open Studios, I have been able to enhance my exhibition skills with installations of found art. These were inspired by an offhanded comment by another studio artist who said, “You can show whatever you want”, which was unbelievably obvious and freeing at the same time.

The last exhibition in this series is Letters | Numbers | Words, which features the artwork of several well-known, and lesser-known, Oregon artists. These are various artworks I have acquired individually, and recently saw how they relate to each other. In contrast to the found artworks which were originally made for non-art purposes, these pieces were all created by working artists as art.

There is something wonderful about seeing these artworks in a gallery setting and in concert with similar pieces. The scale of this exhibition space helps give smaller artworks their due, and enables one to savor the details of larger pieces. Enjoy!"

"It's been a year since my exhibit, Memory Project

"It's been a year since my exhibit, Memory Project: SHREDS at Bush Barn, and I am still obsessed with sifting through the debris of my life experiences with the intention of transforming some of it into art.

An Open Studios visitor to my studio awhile back suggested I make paper with my shreds — a great suggestion — so I taught myself how to do it. It's a fun process to blend the shreds to pulp and see what the end result will be. For now, that's all I got, but I am excited to see where it will take me. I'll be demonstrating the process on the 4th. Maybe you will be my next inspiration!"
